List of Injured and Affected Victims in Ciledug Police Dormitory Fire
A quiet Thursday afternoon at the Ciledug Police Dormitory, Sudimara Barat Village, Ciledug District, Tangerang City, suddenly turned into a scene of extreme panic.
The raging fire destroyed at least 20 houses in the RT 03/05 neighborhood.
The fire, which is strongly suspected to have originated from a stove in one of the houses, also resulted in a number of injured and affected victims.
Based on preliminary information from the Tangerang City Social Service, 3 people were reported injured, 2 suffered broken bones, and 3 residents fainted, suspected to be due to inhaling thick smoke.
In addition to dozens of houses, 5 motorcycles were confirmed to have been burned. 15 elderly people and 20 school children were identified as directly affected and left homeless.
The Head of the Tangerang City Regional Disaster Management Agency’s Operations explained that the incident was reported at 4:05 PM local time. The firefighting team responded immediately, arriving at the location within seven minutes.
Given the extensive burned area, the Tangerang City BPBD deployed its full strength with a total of 15 fleet units and 52 combined personnel, including assistance from the Joglo Post (West Jakarta).
“The fleet from the BPBD Headquarters: 6 units with 15 personnel, the Ciledug UPT: 4 units with 13 personnel, the Pinang Post: 1 unit with 6 personnel, the Ceper UPT: 3 units with 9 personnel, and the Joglo Post: 1 unit with 6 personnel,” the official explained when confirmed.
After fighting for approximately three hours, the fire was finally brought under control at 7:10 PM local time.
The official confirmed that although the damage was extensive, there were no fatalities in this disaster.
“The current main focus is the cooling-down process to ensure the location is completely safe. The total material losses are still being calculated in a detailed data collection process,” the official explained.
