The work to upgrade the structure of the Hutaimbaru-Sipiongot Road section in North Padang Lawas Regency is being accelerated, and progress is showing positive developments.
Currently, the project handled by the North Sumatra Provincial Government through the Sumut Highways, Construction and Public Works Service has entered the hotmix or AC-BC asphalt paving stage.
This was stated by the Head of the Sumut BMBKCK Service, through the Head of the Gunung Tua BMCK UPTD, in Medan on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
The Head of the Gunung Tua BMCK UPTD said that the progress of work in the field until early June 2026 shows achievements that exceed the set targets.
Based on the results of field monitoring conducted by the Sumut BMBKCK Service through the Gunung Tua BMCK UPTD on Monday (1/6/2026), the realization of the physical progress of the Hutaimbaru-Sipiongot road section has reached 6.9%.
“This achievement is far above the planned progress target for the same period, which was 1.8 percent. Thus, there is a positive difference of 5.1 percent compared to the prepared work plan,” said the Head of the Gunung Tua BMCK UPTD.
The Head of the Gunung Tua BMCK UPTD explained that before entering the stage of AC-BC hotmix paving, various preliminary and preparatory works were first completed in accordance with applicable construction stages.
“The completion of these initial works forms an important basis so that the process of upgrading the road structure can proceed according to technical standards and support the quality of work results in the field,” he stated.
According to him, the start of road pavement work with an AC-BC asphalt layer is an indicator that the project implementation is running on schedule, even faster than the planned target.
The agency appreciates the performance of the entire implementation team, which has been able to maintain the acceleration of work without neglecting the technical aspects and construction quality that are the main priorities in road infrastructure development.
Nevertheless, the Gunung Tua BMCK UPTD emphasized that the acceleration of progress must still be balanced with work quality supervision, the implementation of occupational safety and health, and compliance with the specified technical specifications.
“This achievement shows that the work implementation is above the set target. We hope this positive progress can be maintained until the work is completed, while still paying attention to work quality, work safety, and all applicable technical provisions,” he concluded.
