Medan

Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Afif Nasution, distributed hundreds of food packages to online motorcycle taxi drivers and local residents in the Jalan Zainul Arifin area, Medan Polonia District, Medan.

The social initiative did not stop at one location. After Zainul Arifin, Bobby continued the distribution in front of Plaza Medan Fair on Jalan Gatot Subroto, and concluded on Jalan Halat in Medan Area District.

Hundreds of online drivers were seen enthusiastically queuing to receive the food packages containing rice, sugar, cooking oil, powdered tea, and instant noodles. Many passersby also stopped to receive the assistance. Bobby emphasized that this activity was purely an act of solidarity.

“Just solidarity, earlier we distributed food packages. There was rice, there was sugar, we distributed them to our friends,” said Bobby.

He added that the distribution was done randomly, particularly in locations that are often gathering spots for online drivers.

“Whether they were waiting for passengers or just passing by. We distributed them on the street, there were three locations earlier,” he stated.

Positive responses came from the recipients. An online driver expressed great gratitude for the assistance.

“Extremely helpful, if possible, once a month,” he said.

Meanwhile, another resident who received a package planned to give the food items to his parents.

“I am still single, this food package is for my parents,” he shared.
