Cikarang. The Director of LKBN Antara, Akhmad Munir, was elected as the General Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) for the period 2025-2030.
He was elected on the second day of the PWI Congress held at BPPTIK Komdigi, Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, Saturday.
In the election through voting, Akhmad Munir defeated his rival, Hendry Ch Bangun, who was the General Chairman of PWI from the Bandung, West Java Congress in 2023. Hendry only received 35 votes.
Meanwhile, Akhmad Munir received 52 votes. The total voting rights were 87 from 39 provinces. “Mr. Akhmad Munir received 52, Mr. Hendry Ch Bangun received 35 votes,” said the vote counting officer.
In that voting, there were no invalid votes. The victory was immediately greeted with great enthusiasm by the congress participants.
