PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi Kualanamu International Airport (PT AVI KNIA) and the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish strategic cooperation.

The MoU covers the scope of cooperation in the fields of Civil and Administrative Law, including handling legal issues and joint legal capacity development.

This joint signing is expected to strengthen the synergy between the two institutions in supporting the operations and development of Kualanamu International Airport.

The Acting President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi Kualanamu International Airport expressed gratitude for the warm welcome from the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office.

“We hope this cooperation will not be merely ceremonial but can be realized in the form of sustainable collaboration. This synergy is crucial for enhancing optimal airport services for all users and supporting the future development of Kualanamu Airport,” they stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office expressed hope that this cooperation can provide legal enlightenment to PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi, particularly regarding the duties and functions of the Civil and Administrative Law Division in supporting the operations of Kualanamu Airport.

“Through this MoU, we aim to introduce the role and functions of the Civil and Administrative Law Division in providing legal assistance and ensuring the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles within the company,” they said.

Furthermore, it was emphasized that solid collaboration between these two entities is essential for achieving good corporate governance (GCG) and supporting the strategic targets of PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi.

“Based on Law No. 16 of 2004, Article 30, paragraph 2, the Prosecutor’s Office is authorized to provide legal assistance, both litigation and non-litigation, to state-owned and regionally-owned enterprises,” they explained.

They clarified that the function of the Civil and Administrative Law Division in this cooperation includes providing legal advice on governance, regulations, and conducting legal audits if necessary, as well as assistance to ensure the company’s financial accountability. This is expected to enhance professionalism and transparency in the management of Kualanamu Airport.

“The signing of this MoU marks the initial step in forming a strong synergy between PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi and the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, aiming to achieve excellent airport services and the sustainable development of Kualanamu Airport,” they concluded.

Civil and Administrative Law Division

This is not a physical place or cultural site, but a functional division within a government’s judicial or administrative system. The Civil and Administrative Law Division is typically a branch of a country’s Attorney-General’s department or Ministry of Justice that provides legal advice to the government on matters of civil litigation and administrative law. Its history is tied to the development of the modern state and its need for specialized legal counsel to handle disputes with citizens and ensure government actions comply with the law.

Good Corporate Governance

“Good Corporate Governance” is not a physical place or cultural site, but a framework of rules, practices, and processes used to direct and manage a company. Its history is rooted in the need for accountability and transparency, gaining significant prominence after major corporate scandals and financial crises. The goal of this framework is to balance the interests of a company’s many stakeholders, such as shareholders, management, customers, and the community.

Law No. 16 of 2004

“Law No. 16 of 2004” is not a place or cultural site, but a piece of legislation. It is an Indonesian law concerning the regional prosecutor’s office (Kejaksaan), which reorganized the structure, authority, and duties of the public prosecution service within the country’s legal system.
