The Jakarta Education Office has issued a notice regarding distance learning for educational units located near demonstration sites. The notice is contained in Circular Letter Number 8660/PK.00.00 concerning the Distance Learning Notification.
These distance learning regulations are effective starting September 1, 2025. Here is the complete information.
Based on Jakarta Education Office Circular Letter Number 8660/PK.00.00, here are the important points regarding distance learning for school students in Jakarta as of today.
- Educational units located near protest locations, experiencing access constraints, or receiving requests from Parents/Guardians, are permitted to conduct learning from home.
- Educational units not near protest locations or without access constraints may choose to conduct learning directly at the educational unit or from home after intensive communication with Parents/Guardians and the educational unit community through the School Committee.
- The Head of the Educational Unit provides guidance and monitors the implementation of the learning process and offers alternatives if obstacles occur, coordinating with the Regional Education Office and/or the Education Office.
- This notice is effective from Monday, September 1, 2025, until further notice.

Not only distance learning for school students, workers in Jakarta are also advised to work from home (WFH) on September 1, 2025. Through Circular Letter Number e-0014/SE/2025 from the Head of the Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Office, the Jakarta Provincial Government advises companies in areas affected by protests to implement WFH on September 1, 2025.
According to the circular, companies with essential work or requiring 24-hour direct service can combine WFH and work from the office (WFO). Additionally, companies are requested to report WFH implementation through the official link provided by the Jakarta Manpower Office.
