The Deputy Chair of the Jakarta Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) supports the Jakarta Provincial Government’s initiative to provide more child-friendly public spaces that encourage creative expression among students in the capital.

According to the official, public spaces like parks should not only serve as gathering spots but also as venues for students to engage in positive activities and express themselves.

“The opening of student art spaces in celebration of National Children’s Day 2025 demonstrates the Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment. These spaces are designed to accommodate students, allowing them to utilize Jakarta’s parks as places for creativity and achievement,” the official stated.

They expressed hope that students could develop their talents through positive activities, leading to proud accomplishments.

“If anyone feels stressed or overwhelmed, they should use the parks for constructive activities. Don’t dwell on stress—parks can be places to channel emotions into something productive,” they added.

The official also appreciated the Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts in transforming parks into alternative spaces for student activities, including addressing mental health concerns.

“Activities don’t always have to be indoors. Parks can also serve as enjoyable and beneficial spaces for students,” they noted.

Similarly, another member of the Jakarta DPRD welcomed the initiative to provide more public spaces for students.

“I think it’s excellent that parks are open 24 hours and can become places for students to create. This could encourage more outstanding achievements from Jakarta’s youth,” they emphasized.
