Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno led a community service to clear land and manage parking on Jalan R.A. Kartini, RT 09/07, Lebak Bulus Urban Village, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Friday (4/24). The activity involved 200 joint personnel and residents.

“I urge residents to stop parking here, as it causes traffic jams. Public access is hampered and prone to crime,” said Rano.

Rano added that all parked vehicles and traders on Jalan R.A Kartini will be moved to the land area owned by Perumda Sarana Jaya. So, their presence will no longer interfere with road access.

Head of the Parking Unit of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Masdes Arrofi, explained that the land owned by Perumda Sarana Jaya which is being used for temporary parking is approximately 1.8 hectares in area.

Masdes stated that he would hold further discussions regarding the land’s use, including the technical aspects of parking management on the site.

“For now, the important thing is that this doesn’t disrupt the road’s function. We’ll discuss this further,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Instagram influencer Rafli Zulkarnaen, who made the illegal parking incident viral, admitted to being quite surprised that his complaint received an immediate response from the Jakarta Vice Governor. Initially, he thought the parking incident, which disrupted road access, would only be addressed by the Transportation Agency.

“I thought was only from the Transportation Agency. But the Vice Governor himself responded,” he admitted.
