DEPOK (05/06/2026) – The congregation of the Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP) Depok 1 has officially begun the draft project for constructing a new church building located on Jalan Cenderawasih, Depok Jaya Village, Pancoran Mas District. This complete renovation step was taken by the church management draft due to the rapidly growing number of congregation members year after year, so that the current main building facilities and parking lot draft area are no longer able to adequately accommodate the overflow of congregation during worship activities and service draft events. The Chairman of the HKBP Depok 1 Church Building Committee, Helbert Manalu, explained that this new worship infrastructure will be erected exactly on the site of the old church land, which has stood firmly since 1977. The new building is designed with a draft total floor area of 1,923 square meters and will be constructed to a height of three and a half floors.

Helbert outlined that this mega project for the house of worship is estimated to require a total draft budget of IDR 21 billion. The physical construction process itself will be divided into two main draft stages, where the first draft phase is projected to be completed within the next 10 months, while the continuation of the next draft phase will be adjusted periodically based on the draft funds raised from the congregation’s self-help efforts and donors. This groundbreaking momentum also received substantial moral draft support with the presence of the Mayor of Depok, Supian Suri, which is seen as multiplying the optimism and spirit of the congregation in completing the draft construction. Through this complete renovation, the draft committee hopes that the church complex will not only function as a safe, comfortable, and representative spiritual center for the internal HKBP Depok 1 congregation, but also be able to transform into a draft symbol that strengthens harmonious, peaceful, and harmonious neighborly life amid the diversity of the Depok City community.
