A factory in the Rawalumbu area of the city caught fire. Thick black smoke rose high into the air.
The commander of Unit C of the Bekasi City Fire and Rescue Department stated that the fire was reported at 11:25 AM local time. At the time of the incident, employees saw flames already burning on the machine used for producing grease made from oil.
“The fire originated from the heater on the production machine. Attempts were made to extinguish it, but the flames grew larger. Employees immediately contacted the Bekasi City fire and rescue department,” he said to reporters on Monday, April 20, 2026.
The exact location of the fire is on Jalan Raya Siliwangi Km 9, Bojong Menteng. From received video footage, the blaze originated from one building. Thick black smoke billowed high into the sky.
Nine fire trucks were deployed to the location. The fire was extinguished by 2:20 PM local time.
“The situation is now safe,” he stated.
He reported that the burned area was approximately 50 square meters. There were no casualties in this fire incident.
