Bandung

Persib Bandung has officially introduced Federico Barba as their new player. This Italian defender was officially introduced on Wednesday and becomes the tenth foreign player recruited by Persib Bandung.

“First, I would like to welcome Federico Barba, who will add strength to Persib’s defensive line,” said Prabu, the Persib mascot, when announcing Barba’s recruitment in a television broadcast.

Barba was born in Rome on September 1, 1993. He began his football career at the AS Roma academy before making his professional debut with Grosseto in 2012. His career then rose when he strengthened Empoli in Serie A. With this club, Barba recorded more than 50 appearances.

Besides Italy, Barba also experienced the competition atmosphere in Europe. He was loaned to VfB Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga, then to Sporting Gijón in Spain. After that, his career continued with Chievo Verona, Real Valladolid, Benevento, Pisa, and Como.

Most recently, he defended FC Sion in the Swiss Super League. His contract ended in July 2025, so he is now a free transfer. Throughout his career, Barba has appeared in 374 matches and scored about 15 goals.

His height of 1.87 meters makes him known for being tough in aerial duels and skilled at guarding the defense.
