SOREANG – The Bandung Regency Government has confirmed there will be no increase in the Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) for 2025.
It was explained that the policy to maintain the property tax rate was taken so that the community is not burdened amidst economic conditions that are still vulnerable. Maintaining the purchasing power stability of residents is a priority for the local government.
“There is no increase. We are only making adjustments at certain points, specifically in residential areas where the infrastructure and utilities have officially become the responsibility of the local government,” he said.
He stated that such adjustments are reasonable because the local government must allocate a budget for the maintenance of public infrastructure in those residential areas.
“If the infrastructure has been handed over, there is automatically a new burden that must be shouldered,” he added.
Nevertheless, he emphasized that there is no final figure yet regarding the amount of the new rate. The Regency Government is still awaiting the results of a technical study involving regional apparatuses and coordination with the Bandung Regency Regional House of Representatives.
“All decisions will be based on studies. We want tax policies to remain rational and not burdensome,” he said.
In addition to certainty regarding the property tax, the Bandung Regency Government also delivered good news for the agricultural sector. Protected rice fields (LSD) in Bandung Regency are confirmed to be exempt from property tax levies.
With this policy, farmers will no longer be burdened by an annual tax. According to the explanation, this step is a form of the government’s commitment to maintaining food security while preserving productive green spaces.
“We want to protect farmers, while also ensuring that agricultural land does not continue to shrink due to economic pressure,” he said.
