Record Growth in Ticket Checking, Non-Fare Revenue, and Sundry (Miscellaneous) Revenue
The Vadodara Division of Western Railway has set new records in the financial year 2025-26. During this period, the division earned a total passenger revenue of ₹697.57 crore, which is 8.34 percent higher than the ₹638.68 crore earned in 2024-25. The division successfully achieved its targets for both passenger revenue and ticket checking revenue.
In the financial year 2025-26, the division collected over ₹18.50 crore in revenue from ticket checking, which is 18.42% higher than the previous financial year. It also earned ₹7.23 crore in non-fare revenue, a 4.47% increase from the previous year’s ₹6.92 crore. Sundry (miscellaneous) revenue reached ₹13.89 crore, marking the best revenue growth to date, surpassing the ₹13.57 crore earned in 2023-24.
The division’s commercial department earned ₹3.70 crore under parking revenue, exceeding the previous financial year’s ₹3.33 crore. Catering revenue stood at ₹2.76 crore, higher than the previous year’s ₹2.70 crore. The division served 50.28 million passengers, a 14.32% increase from the 43.98 million passengers in the previous financial year, marking a remarkable achievement.
The division recorded a 112% reduction in railway assistance complaints and a 60% improvement in resolution time. Through continuous efforts to enhance and modernize passenger amenities, the division established the first-of-its-kind digital lounge at Vadodara station, which was the second such digital lounge in Indian Railways. The division also played a unique role in awareness campaigns for the Rail One app.
This achievement by the commercial department is the result of intensive and regular ticket checking campaigns, increased field supervision, robust vigilance, and efforts to ensure passenger compliance with rules. This success reflects the team’s coordinated efforts, effective monitoring, and operational efficiency. The Vadodara Division remains committed to improving passenger services and increasing revenue.
