From Digitization to Machine Monitoring—Smart Manufacturing to Boost MSME Productivity and Competitiveness

Surat. An informative seminar on ‘Smart Manufacturing Solutions for MSMEs’ was organized by the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI). On this occasion, industry experts explained the importance of digital transformation and its business benefits to entrepreneurs.

During the inaugural speech, it was stated, “MSMEs are the backbone of the Indian economy. By adopting digitization and innovations in manufacturing technology, entrepreneurs can not only remain competitive but also take their businesses to the next level.”

The keynote speaker highlighted that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) currently face challenges such as employee productivity, data management, efficiency, and lack of technical awareness. The solution to these problems lies in adopting smart manufacturing, the first step of which is transitioning from paper to digital data management.

It was explained that digitization includes solutions such as supply chain management, machine monitoring systems, computer vision in inspection, and video analytics, which improve production quality and operational efficiency.

Examples of government support schemes and successful case studies demonstrated how MSMEs can achieve significant improvements in their businesses by adopting digital solutions.

During the seminar, a keynote address was delivered, and the event’s framework was presented. Satisfactory answers were provided to questions raised by attending entrepreneurs at the end of the program.

The seminar was conducted by the chairman of the MSME committee, who expressed gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers before concluding the event.
