Surat. The process of filing nomination papers for the upcoming election of the Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTA) began on Sunday, June 8, 2026. During this process, which started at 2:00 PM, a total of 42 nomination papers were submitted from various categories.
According to information received from election officials, 21 nominations were filed from the Platinum category, 13 from the Diamond category, and 8 from the Gold category. Against a total of 41 director positions, 42 candidates have submitted their claims.
In the Platinum category, there are 21 nominations for 21 positions; in the Diamond category, there are 13 nominations for 13 positions; only in the Gold category, there are 8 nominations for 7 positions.
The nomination process was completed peacefully in the presence and supervision of election officers Ashok Jain, Brijmohan Agrawal, and Sachin Agrawal.
According to the election schedule, the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on Tuesday, June 9. Following this, at 6:00 PM, the list of valid candidates will be published at the FOSTA office.
Candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations on June 13, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. After this, the final list of candidates will be released.
If necessary, voting will be conducted on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Millennium Market on Ring Road.
