New Delhi, February 1. Today was the first day of the budget session of the 18th Lok Sabha. The President delivered a 59-minute address to the joint session of both houses, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
The speech sparked controversy following comments from opposition leaders. Some remarks were seen as disrespectful towards the President, causing a call for an apology.
It was mentioned by some that such statements about the President are an insult to the poor and indigenous communities.
There was also objection to the comments made about the President, describing them as unfortunate and damaging to the dignity of the President.
