New Delhi, February 03. The Supreme Court has asked for a report from the Central Forensic Science Lab (CFSL) in a sealed envelope within 6 weeks regarding the violence in Manipur. In fact, some audio clips have emerged in which there are allegations of violence instigated by the Chief Minister of Manipur.
The organization for human rights has demanded that these audio clips be investigated under court supervision. It is claimed that in the audio, the Chief Minister is allegedly saying that he allowed and protected the instigators of the violence.
The lawyers for the petitioners stated: “The tapes that have come out are very serious.” The bench of the Chief Justice and Justice Sanjay Kumar from the Supreme Court has instructed the government of Manipur to ensure that this does not become yet another issue. Hearings on this will start in the week beginning March 24.
