The four-day event was jointly organized by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, the Dongguan Municipal People’s Government, and the National Federation of Taiwanese Businessmen. As a major platform in Guangdong for promoting cross-strait integrated development, this year’s Taiwan Expo aimed to implement the «Dongguan Plan for Deepening Cross-Strait Innovative Development Cooperation» (referred to as the «Dongguan Cross-Strait Plan»), assisting Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises in integrating into the new development landscape and promoting high-quality development.

Under the theme «Strengthening Chains, Integration, and Intelligent Creation for the Future,» the Taiwan Expo covered an exhibition area of 33,000 square meters. It featured eight major theme pavilions, including the Artificial Intelligence Theme Pavilion, the Cross-Strait Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Pavilion, the Cross-Strait Agricultural Technology Pavilion, and the Asia Pavilion, along with 25 provincial (municipal) specialty pavilions. Special zones included the Taiwan Machinery Intelligence Zone, the Taiwan Souvenir Zone, and the Dongguan Taiwanese Business Brand Zone, highlighting famous products in AI, electronic information, intelligent manufacturing, biotechnology, and Taiwan’s «One County, One Hot Product» initiative. Over 670 enterprises participated with more than 1,880 booths.

The exhibition received widespread praise from exhibitors and buyers, with many reporting new orders and distributor signings. On-site surveys by the organizing committee revealed that over 90% of exhibitors expressed their intention to participate again next year and hoped to expand their exhibition space.

Stronger Foundation for Cross-Strait Cooperation

This year’s Taiwan Expo introduced the «Asia Pavilion» for the first time, gathering over ten prominent Taiwanese enterprises from countries such as India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. This brought «Taiwan Expo business opportunities» to Belt and Road partners, attracting more Taiwanese businesses to participate in the new development landscape of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Participation from both Taiwan and mainland Taiwanese businesses exceeded previous levels, covering 22 counties and cities in Taiwan including Taipei and Kaohsiung, as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and 25 provinces (cities) such as Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Hunan, Xiamen in Fujian, Wenzhou in Zhejiang, and Huanggang in Hubei, along with 32 towns and streets in Dongguan.

Industrial and commercial groups expanded significantly, with the newly added Taiwan Machinery Industry Association and Taiwan Generator Industry Association organizing 58 member enterprises to exhibit. The focus on electronics specialty exhibitions continued, with exhibitors in electronic information and biomedicine accounting for over 70% of the total. Support from many returning participants and the addition of new partners brought more diverse products, technologies, and ideas, further solidifying the foundation for cross-strait industrial cooperation.

An efficient interactive platform was established, hosting over ten events including supply chain matchmaking sessions for intelligent and robotics industries, promotional conferences for exhibits in provincial city pavilions, specialized推介会 for machinery intelligence equipment, and expert seminars in foreign trade. These activities facilitated discussions on new policies, exchanges of new technologies, and recommendations of new products, enhancing exhibition-procurement cooperation and industry communication.
