Recently, the Green Lancang-Mekong Plan: Regional Green Low-Carbon Circular Policy and Practice Roundtable was held in Shanghai. The meeting was organized by the Lancang-Mekong Environmental Cooperation Center/Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, and co-hosted by Shanghai Urban Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. Representatives from environmental departments of Lancang-Mekong countries, international organizations, and think tanks attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was pointed out that the necessity of green transformation is unquestionable. We must accelerate the engine of sustainable economic development to address the pressing challenges of environmental degradation, resource depletion, and climate change. It is hoped that practical experiences and innovative explorations from various countries and partners can provide rich experiences for regional green transformation and serve as catalysts for future efforts and actions, guiding the region towards a green, low-carbon, and circular future.
