Mohamed Fathi, Deputy President of the Basketball Federation, confirmed that the selection of Agusti Bosch as the technical director of the Egyptian national team was a collective decision.
Fathi said during television statements: The selection of Agusti Bosch as the technical director of the national team was collective, and there is a penalty clause in his contract of $15,000, and his salary is paid by the federation.
The Deputy President of the Basketball Federation added: Our meeting with Gohar Nabil, the Minister of Sports, touched on many matters, including the 3×3 national team, marketing and sponsorship contracts, and we did not discuss Agusti.
He continued his statements: Ashraf Sobhi was more interested in regulations than him, but Gohar Nabil’s interest in marketing and the tournament is greater.
Mohamed Fathi continued: We thought about the departure of Agusti Bosch, but the decision will not be unilateral, so he is continuing with the national team normally.
Regarding debts, the Deputy President of the Basketball Federation said: There are 20 million Egyptian pounds in debts owed by clubs to the Basketball Federation, and Zamalek Club is the most indebted.
He concluded his statements: Professionals cost clubs huge sums, so we proposed canceling professionals, but some clubs refused, while Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Sporting agreed.
