JATISAMPURNA — Spa/massage business operators located in the Jatisampurna District are suspected of offering dozens of therapists dressed scantily, even showing their underwear.
This was seen on the Instagram social media account of the spa business, causing several residents to be upset. This is the first time a spa or massage business has offered their therapists wearing sexy attire through social media.
“How could we not be shocked, the clothing of the female therapists in the spa business was almost bare-chested, and some even removed their clothes to reveal only their bras,” said Ajun, a local resident, Saturday (31/5/2025).
Separately, a community leader from Kalimanggis, Herman (59), who is also a member of NU at the Jatikarya branch, said the spa business offering its therapists in sexy clothing has violated the ethical norms of local wisdom and religious norms in conducting business activities in the city of Bekasi, particularly in the Jatikarya and Kranggan areas in general.
“We don’t prohibit any business, but ethical norms must be maintained. Especially since the business is promoted through social media, as users of social media are from various walks of life, including teenagers. Careless dissemination of indecent material should not happen and become accessible to various segments of society,” he stressed.
Bang Herman, who is also a member of NU in the Jatikarya branch, also urged business operators such as spas or massages in Kalimanggis and its surroundings to maintain the ethical norms of local wisdom among the community.
“The government must also take serious action, close such businesses. Do not just casually grant business licenses without any dissemination related to ethical norms for conducting business activities. This is the archipelago, not a foreign country,” he stated.
He questioned if it was a business for health therapy or merely to satisfy lust. “Our concern is the young generation, so they do not continuously receive such social media information,” he concluded.(RED)
