The beauty and health industry was a key focus of the promotion conference. Fengxian New City’s beauty and health industry mainly covers three segments: cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and fine foods. According to statistics, in 2024, the beauty and health industry in Fengxian New City achieved a scale-above output value of 56.17 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%. Among these, cosmetics completed an output value of 14.53 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%, ranking first in Shanghai. It is understood that the “Fengxian District Cosmetics Industry Cluster” has been recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a national-level characteristic cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises. Fengxian was also selected as a national “Three Products” strategy demonstration city for consumer goods industries, thanks to its distinctive industries in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food.

In recent years, Fengxian New City has formed differentiated competitive advantages in fields such as beauty and health, and technological innovation. Fengxian New City is actively introducing cutting-edge technologies such as “AI+” and synthetic biology, strongly promoting the cross-border integration of cosmetics with biotechnology, and health foods with intelligent testing.
