A total of 12 advisory council members and 33 administrators of the Tangerang Regency Branch Leadership Council of the Indonesian Advocates Congress (KAI) were inaugurated.
The administrators of this organization, which was established in 2008, are expected to be courageous in upholding just and dignified law enforcement.
The Chairperson of the Central Executive Board expressed confidence that under the leadership of the Branch Chairperson, the organization in Tangerang Regency could grow even larger in the future.
This indication is already visible from the many congratulatory flower arrangements.
“From this, we can already see how well-connected and close they are to important figures in Tangerang Regency,” it was said at Yasmin Hotel, Curug District, Tangerang Regency.
It is believed that the number of advocates in Tangerang Regency is quite large, approximately 300 people. Moreover, the KAI organization has 34 Provincial Leadership Boards throughout Indonesia. Each province along with its regencies/cities has already been established.
It was stated that there are roughly 40,000 members. The desire is for all KAI members to be courageous in law enforcement.
This KAI organization carries the slogan “Fighter Advocates, Advocates Fighters.” Everywhere, members fight for law enforcement in Indonesia.
KAI also already has 68 Legal Aid Institutions (LBH) throughout Indonesia. The organization is ready to support the government.
“That is our commitment. I often emphasize to our members, it’s okay to be critical but it must be constructive. Destructive criticism is not allowed. Where we are building. That is correct; criticism that tears down is not correct. No government runs perfectly smoothly,” it was emphasized.
At the same location, the Governor of Banten conveyed congratulations to the inaugurated administrators. May the entrusted mandate be carried out with full integrity, professionalism, and dedication to realize law enforcement and legal certainty within society.
“The advocate profession holds a very strategic position in law enforcement. Advocates are not only about law enforcement but also play a role in providing legal assistance to the community,” it was stated.
This, it was continued, is in line with the mandate of Law Number 18 of 2003 concerning Advocates, which places advocates as one of the main pillars in the judicial system.
“I believe that the presence of the Indonesian Advocates Congress in Tangerang Regency will further strengthen our joint efforts in presenting civilized justice, law that sides with truth, and providing certainty and protection to the community,” it was said.
Tangerang Regency, as the center of economic growth in Banten Province, faces a very rapid development process. Growth in industry, trade, and investment is certainly accompanied by various legal issues.
Both concerning labor, trade, and services. That is where the role of the Indonesian Advocates Congress is greatly needed so that the resolution of legal problems can be handled in a just, elegant, and dignified manner.
“The Provincial Government of Banten hopes that the Tangerang Regency Branch Leadership Council of KAI can become a strategic partner for the regional government. Both in providing policy input, legal assistance, and education for the community,” it was concluded.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Director General of Compliance and Human Rights Services of the Ministry of Human Rights, the Regent of Tangerang, the Chairperson of the Tangerang Regency Regional Legislative Council, the Chief of the South Tangerang Police, and a number of other regional officials.
