Depok

The Bogor-Jakarta Kota route was temporarily quiet due to the work-from-home advisory earlier this week. This morning, the KRL train cars were crowded again as usual.

Observations at Citayam Station, Depok, on Wednesday (3/9/2025) at 07:00 WIB showed queues of passengers already visible on the platform for the train heading to Jakarta Kota.

Atmosphere Inside the Bogor-Jakarta Kota KRL This Morning

Standing passengers were also dense. Several passengers seemed to have to crowd near the door areas of the cars.

“If there’s no room, don’t force it,” said one station officer.

The travel conditions of the KRL were different on Monday (1/9) and Tuesday (2/9) mornings. The atmosphere at the station and in the KRL cars at that time was not crowded as usual.

That quiet atmosphere occurred when the Jakarta Provincial Government issued a work-from-home advisory for offices near demonstration locations in Jakarta. The advisory was issued after disturbances occurred last weekend.

Citayam Station

Citayam Station is a commuter railway station located in Depok, West Java, Indonesia, serving the Bogor Line. It gained significant, unexpected cultural prominence in the early 2020s when its forecourt became a famous hangout spot for Indonesian youth, who dubbed themselves the “Citayam Fashion Week” crowd for their distinctive street style. While the station itself is a standard transit point, its recent history is defined by this organic social phenomenon that turned it into a national symbol of youth creativity and self-expression.

KRL

I am unable to provide a summary for “KRL” as it is not a recognized place or cultural site. The acronym is most commonly associated with the **K**omuter **R**el **L**istrik, the commuter rail system in Jakarta, Indonesia, or various other organizations and technical terms, but none are a specific cultural destination with a notable history.
