Demonstrations that turned chaotic occurred in late August. Police have named several suspects alleged to have committed crimes during the protests.
These suspects are alleged to have damaged public facilities and resisted officers. Here are the key points.
Demonstrations in Jakarta
More than 1,000 people were arrested and 38 suspects were named in connection with the anarchic incidents.
Chaotic demonstrations occurred around the DPR RI building and the Gelora, Tanah Abang area of Central Jakarta on August 25. A total of 337 anarchic protesters were arrested that day.
Three suspects have been named in connection with the chaotic demonstration. These suspects are alleged to have damaged vehicles.
“Among them, three suspects have been named who are alleged to have damaged motor vehicles. A two-wheeled motor vehicle was burned on the 25th, and damage was done to a four-wheeled vehicle, the viral car of a civil servant working at a ministry,” it was stated.
Authorities arrested 765 people during the chaotic demonstration in Jakarta on August 28. They are suspected of committing anarchic acts around the DPR RI building and Gelora, Tanah Abang.
“Then the anarchic incident that occurred on August 28, 2025, was also in front of the DPR/MPR building, as well as in Gelora Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, and in other areas of DKI, which turned anarchic, resulting in 765 people being secured,” it was said.

Eleven people were arrested during a subsequent chaotic demonstration on August 29 at other points in DKI Jakarta.
“Then anarchic actions also occurred on August 29, 2025, in other areas of DKI Jakarta, with 11 people secured,” it was stated.
Anarchic actions in the Jakarta area continued on August 30 and 31. Authorities arrested 205 people, with 25 of them already named as suspects. These suspects are alleged to have damaged public facilities.
“Then on the dates of August 30 to 31, anarchic actions also occurred in other areas of DKI Jakarta, and we have secured 205 people, among whom 25 have been named as suspects for damaging public facilities,” it was said.
So far, 38 suspects have been named in connection with these anarchic actions. The suspects are alleged to have committed criminal acts including damaging public facilities and resisting officers.
“There are 38 suspects who have been detained by investigators in connection with anarchic incidents, damage to public facilities, damage to police offices, and also criminal acts of resisting officers performing their duties.
Demonstrations in Bekasi
In Bekasi, anarchic demonstrations targeted the Metro Bekasi Kota Police Station and the Pondok Gede Police Sector. Dozens of suspected rioters were arrested by police.
“A total of 66 people suspected of being rioters have been secured by the Metro Bekasi Kota Police,” it was stated.

Dozens of people were secured on Saturday (30/8) and Sunday (30/8). The suspected
