CCTV footage shows a man wearing a ninja-like buff mask committing theft at a house in the Sawangan area, which has gone viral on social media. The perpetrator stole a laptop while the victim was fast asleep.
From the CCTV footage circulating on social media, the perpetrator is seen wearing a buff mask and a black jacket. The perpetrator appears to be monitoring the situation and is unaware of the CCTV camera inside the victim’s house.
It was confirmed that the incident occurred on Monday (25/8) at 23:00 WIB. The theft happened while the victim was in deep sleep.
“At 23:00 WIB, the reporter or victim and family were resting and sleeping. All doors and windows of the house were locked,” said the police official in a statement on Wednesday (27/8/2025).
On Tuesday (26/8) at 08:00 WIB, when the victim was about to watch a movie, the victim’s laptop placed on the guest table was missing. The victim checked the house condition via CCTV and found the window in the back bedroom open or pried open.
“Then, from the CCTV check, it was found that an unidentified man wearing a face cover or buff entered from the direction of the back bedroom at around 03:52 WIB,” he said.
According to the victim’s statement, the perpetrator is suspected to have entered the house by climbing the boundary wall between the victim’s house and the neighbor’s house.
“After that, besides the laptop, a school bag belonging to the victim’s child was also found missing,” he said.
The police have checked the crime scene. The victim was then directed to file a police report.
“The crime scene was checked yesterday. The victim was directed to make a report but had not come as of last night,” he concluded.
