TANGERANG – The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Tangerang City, in collaboration with the Social Service, has once again distributed Honor Funds to veterans during the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
The Vice Chairman for Distribution and Utilization stated that the Honor Funds distributed are one form of care provided to independence struggle veterans from Tangerang City.
It is recorded that BAZNAS Tangerang City distributed Honor Funds worth tens of millions of rupiah directly at the Tangerang City Branch Headquarters of the Indonesian Veterans Legion.
“These Honor Funds are the result of collections from zakat payers in welcoming the recent Independence Day commemoration. The amount distributed is two million rupiah plus basic food package assistance that can be utilized by the veterans,” the official stated.
It was added that BAZNAS Tangerang City distributed these Honor Funds to seven veterans residing in Tangerang City. Among the recipients were Kasbilal (79 years), Dadi Karnadijaya (96 years), Masluh (71 years), Saino (82 years), Achmad Kamil (70 years), Tarjun Adul (83 years) and Soekasti (96 years).
BAZNAS Tangerang City hopes that the Honor Fund program can continue in the coming years.
“God willing, we will continue this program every year to honor the services of heroes including veterans. Moreover, this Honor Fund program has proven to help improve the welfare of veterans in Tangerang City,” the official concluded.
