Bandung

A Cultural Parade to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the 80th Anniversary of West Java will be held in Bandung City. The event will take place in the afternoon.

The Head of Traffic Police stated that his department, along with related agencies, has prepared security measures for the event.

“We can convey that tomorrow there will be a parade or carnival event, planned to be attended by approximately 2,000 invited guests plus regional leadership and agencies from 27 regencies and cities, and the West Java Provincial Government, totaling nearly 4,000 people who will carry out the 2025 Cultural Parade.”

The event will begin at 3:00 PM Western Indonesia Time and cover a distance of approximately 4.2 km. The parade is estimated to take about 55 minutes or 1 hour, with the route starting from Gedung Merdeka and finishing at Gedung Sate.

“The route to be taken is approximately along Asia Afrika, ABC, Braga, Suniaraja, Viaduct, Perintis Kemerdekaan, Wastukencana, Ir Juanda, Ex Dukomsel, Diponegoro, and finishing at Gedung Sate.”

Personnel deployed for security will number nearly 390, from the Bandung City Police, plus one unit from the West Java Regional Police.

“We are also designating several parking areas that will be prepared at Ex Palaguna, the Struggle Monument, Pusdai, and the Majapahit Lane.”

There will be three traffic security points implemented at Gedung Merdeka, City Hall, and Gedung Sate.

“All will be led by respective Sector Police Chiefs as Security Commanders, and traffic will be arranged in such a way that this carnival procession can proceed well and smoothly.”

There will be several traffic management measures or diversions, specifically on Jalan Asia Afrika-Tamblong heading towards the starting point, which will be diverted.

“Then, around Perintis Kemerdekaan, traffic heading to the right will certainly be diverted to prevent congestion so it can proceed directly via Braga. Furthermore, traffic around Ir Juanda and Diponegoro will not be allowed to turn right, so there is no buildup around Gedung Sate.”

Other road users are advised to avoid the route in the afternoon.

“So this is a carnival celebration that has been eagerly awaited by the public as a reflection of our efforts to enliven the independence celebration, in addition to the many competitions that have likely been held to commemorate the struggle for independence, such as sack races, clog races, cracker eating contests, and others, which are certainly carried out. After that series of events, there will definitely be this cultural parade activity. This is certainly an expression of our pride and gratitude for celebrating this 80th independence.”
