Persib midfielder Abdul Aziz is seriously developing a padel court business in Bandung.

Seeing the rising global trend of padel sports, Aziz and several of his colleagues, including Rizky Ridho, took the initiative to build this sports facility as a sustainable business opportunity.

“Business is all about momentum. Right now, padel is really hyped, not just in Indonesia or Bandung, but worldwide. So I see this as more than just a seasonal trend (FOMO)—it has long-term potential,” said Aziz during a visit to Padel.co.

Currently, Aziz has built four padel courts and is preparing to expand to three other locations in Bandung: Hotel Horison, Batununggal, and the Pungkur area.

“All the ongoing projects are also padel courts,” he added.

Previously, Aziz also ran a Mini Soccer business. However, he admits he is now more focused on padel due to its promising prospects.

“The Mini Soccer business is still running—there are four locations. But for now, we’ve paused new developments to focus more on padel,” he explained.

According to him, padel has a broad and inclusive market segment. “Kids to seniors can all play and enjoy it. In Jakarta alone, padel court schedules are already hard to get, which is why many come to Bandung for a vacation too. So we’re also pushing to make it a sports tourism destination,” he said.

The grand opening of his padel court is planned for late August 2025. Construction is still underway, including finishing supporting facilities like restrooms and lounge areas.

Besides padel, Aziz continues to maintain his other business ventures, such as food and apparel. “The food business is still running, and so is Infiny,” he shared.

The involvement of Aziz and fellow national footballers in business reflects a growing trend among athletes who recognize the importance of investment and income diversification beyond sports.
