Hyderabad, Auto driver Avinash Irbaji Kalane (37), who murdered his wife over suspicion of her character, was arrested by Attapur police. Police recovered the knife, peeler, and iron rod used in the murder from the accused.

Originally from Nanded, Avinash married Soni alias Komal in 2013. After marriage, Komal gave birth to a son. A few years ago, Avinash moved to Hyderabad with his wife and son in search of employment.

Deadly attack on wife in front of eight-year-old son

Living in Shyamala Residency apartment in Tejaswini Nagar colony, Avinash worked as an auto driver and mason. For some days, he fell into bad company, developed wrong habits, and started drinking alcohol. Besides drinking, he suspected his wife’s character and subjected her to physical and mental harassment. Last night, he again quarreled with Komal over the same issue and continued arguing until 4 AM. In a fit of rage, he attacked Komal with a vegetable knife, and when she tried to escape, he threw a glass at her, causing her to fall.

At that moment, Avinash attacked Komal with a vegetable peeler and an iron rod. Komal fell to the ground, severely bleeding. After attacking Komal, Avinash fled. He attacked Komal in front of their eight-year-old son. On complaint from neighbors, police arrived at the scene and took the injured Komal to the hospital, but she died before reaching the hospital. Police registered a murder case and arrested the absconding Avinash today. He was produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
