Hyderabad, The IT and Industry Minister stated that Hyderabad’s skilled talent, world-class infrastructure, relatively low traffic issues, and affordable rents are attracting major companies. Due to these features, leading global financial institutions are choosing Hyderabad as a preferred destination to establish their Global Capability Centers.

Representatives from New York-based Pico Technology met with the Minister at the Telangana Secretariat on Saturday. The Minister for Roads and Buildings was also present at this meeting. Pico Technology, which provides financial market services, expressed its desire to establish a GCC in Hyderabad through its subsidiary, Pico Technology India.

City Infrastructure to Get a Boost

The Minister detailed the opportunities and infrastructure available in the city, stating that short-term and long-term plans are being implemented to strengthen infrastructure, keeping in mind the needs for the next five to ten years as well as twenty years. He informed that office space occupancy in Hyderabad is 73 percent, compared to only 52 percent in Mumbai. Due to problems like traffic and air pollution, IT companies and GCCs are increasingly turning towards Hyderabad.

The Minister for Roads and Buildings explained that a new Regional Ring Road is being built approximately 30 kilometers outside the existing Nehru Outer Ring Road. Alongside this, radial roads are also being constructed. He said that alongside the ring road, a railway line will also be developed to create a world-class transportation system. A double-decker road is being constructed between Hayathnagar and LB Nagar.

The lower road will be for local traffic, while the upper two levels will be designated for vehicles entering and exiting the city. He also stated that Hyderabad will be the second city to build such a double-decker road after Nagpur. The tender process will be completed and work will begin within the next two months.

Hyderabad

Regional Ring Road

Hayathnagar
