New Delhi, India has now become the world’s largest market for the popular chocolate brand KitKat, owned by the Swiss food and confectionery company Nestlé. According to the company, this achievement is due to strong consumer reach, product innovation, and aggressive marketing investments.

10 years ago, India ranked 10th globally for KitKat

Nestlé India’s Chairman and Managing Director Manish Tiwari recently told reporters, “India is now the world’s largest market for KitKat, and the brand’s market share has grown rapidly over the past few years.” According to the company, India had been the second-largest market for this brand for the past two to three years, but it has now reached the top spot.

Tiwari also noted that KitKat has now become the second brand in Nestlé’s portfolio, after Maggi, to achieve the largest market globally. According to the company, about 10 years ago, India ranked 10th globally for KitKat.
