BANJARMASIN – The Chairman of the Indonesian Advocates Movement Council (DePA-RI), Dr. TM. Luthfi Yazid, inaugurated the Special Professional Education for Advocates (PKPA) at the Faculty of Law, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
The PKPA program is being held for the second time by DePA-RI and ULM. A total of 25 participants, consisting of academics and law graduates from several universities in South Kalimantan, attended the event.
In his speech, Luthfi Yazid urged aspiring advocates to never stop learning and remain motivated, given the rapid advancements in law and technology.
He emphasized the importance of reading, writing, discussing, and finding mentors with integrity and broad knowledge to accelerate the learning process.
The lawyer, who handled presidential election disputes in the Constitutional Court in 2019 and 2024, also reminded DePA-RI advocates not to be complacent but to continuously expand their knowledge and build national and international networks.
During a media interview, the Chairman of DePA-RI, accompanied by the Secretary-General Dr. Sugeng Aribowo and Treasurer Pramono Istanto, invited DePA-RI advocates to participate in various activities with international organizations.
In line with this, in August 2025, DePA-RI will sign an MoU, collaborate, and conduct activities with the Law Society of Singapore, Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC), and Singapore International Mediation Center (SIMC), as well as pay a courtesy visit to the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law at ULM, Dr. Sapruddin, accompanied by the Postgraduate Coordinator, Dr. Ahmad Saufi, expressed hope for a sustained collaboration between DePA-RI and FH ULM beyond the PKPA program.
The Vice Dean, also an alumnus of UGM’s Faculty of Law, welcomed the Chairman of DePA-RI’s invitation to collaborate, synergize, and strengthen cooperation between practitioners and academics for a brighter future for Indonesia.
