Preliminary results of the presidential elections in Belarus announced: Alexander Lukashenko gains 86.82% of the vote
The preliminary results of the presidential elections in Belarus have been announced. According to the data of the Central Election Commission, the current head of state Alexander Lukashenko gained 86.82% of the vote. The main rival, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, received 9.9% of the vote.
Thus, Alexander Lukashenko wins the presidential elections in Belarus for the sixth time.
“We have received preliminary data from all regions of the country. The voter turnout was 84.05%,” said the head of the Central Election Commission of Belarus.
According to him, the rest of the votes were distributed as follows: Anna Kanopatskaya – 1.68%, Andrei Dmitriev – 2.02%, Sergei Cherechen – 1.13%.
