Hyderabad, on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, TPCC President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Gowda paid heartfelt tribute.

Mahesh Kumar Gowda said that Rajiv Gandhi was a visionary leader who gave a new direction to the youth in the country’s politics. With the great resolve to take the country into the 21st century, he laid a strong foundation for the information technology sector. Mahesh Kumar Gowda recalled that under Rajiv Gandhi’s leadership, historic reforms such as the telecommunications revolution, computerization, strengthening the Panchayati Raj system, and reducing the voting age for youth from 21 to 18 years were implemented. He said that Rajiv Gandhi’s contributions in the areas of rural development, education, women’s empowerment, science and technology will always be remembered. He worked throughout his life to protect the unity, secularism, and social justice of the country.
