TANGERANG – A humanitarian blood donation event organized by Indomaret Tangerang 1 Branch in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Tangerang Regency on Wednesday (May 13) was a success. The activity, centered at the branch office, recorded high enthusiasm from management and employees.

According to field data, 60 participants registered for the social action. Of the total registrants, 57 passed health screenings and successfully donated blood, while 3 others were rejected for not meeting medical requirements.

The Electronic Data Processing (EDP) Manager of Indomaret Tangerang 1 Branch noted that since joining Indomaret three years ago, he has consistently supported this agenda and has participated six times as a donor.

According to him, based on several health articles he read, blood donation has a very positive impact on the body, one of which is triggering cell regeneration.

“I feel that after donating blood, my body feels fresher because blood cells are replaced with new ones,” said the man responsible for ensuring the reliability of store networks and computer programs so that customer service runs smoothly without transaction issues.

An Indomaret Tangerang 1 Branch worker appears to be undergoing a health screening before having blood drawn.

Beyond personal health benefits, he felt compelled because he realized the importance of maintaining blood stock availability at the PMI of Tangerang Regency, which often runs low.

“That’s why I want to join this blood donation, to help increase the supply of blood bags at PMI so they can be used by people in need,” he said.

In his daily role leading the IT division, he also actively encourages his subordinates to participate in every blood donation event facilitated by the company. Nevertheless, he understands if some staff cannot donate blood after medical team checks.

“I always advise my team to donate their blood. However, not all personnel can pass the donation due to certain medical reasons, such as blood pressure being too high or low, and other reasons,” he explained, echoing the fact that 3 registrants were rejected in this donation session.

At the end of the opportunity, he invited all coworkers at Indomaret Tangerang 1 Branch who have never donated or are still hesitant to start daring to donate blood.

“Join the blood donation, it doesn’t hurt. In fact, it has many benefits for our body,” he concluded.
