JAKARTA — Four members of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) have been officially deactivated based on decisions from the central leadership boards (DPP) of their respective political parties.
Ahmad Sachroni and Nafa Urbach have both been officially deactivated from the DPR RI membership of the National Democrat (Nasdem) faction, effective Monday, September 1, 2025.
A similar fate befell Eko Hendro Purnomo (Eko Patrio) and Surya Utama (Uya Kuya). These two legislators were deactivated as members of the DPR RI from the National Mandate Party (PAN) faction, effective Monday, September 1, 2025.
The decision from the PAN DPP was conveyed by the Deputy Chairman of the PAN DPP, Viva Yoga Mauladi. It was stated that the deactivation was based on the dynamics and developments currently occurring in Indonesia.
“PAN urges the public to remain calm, patient, and fully trust the government led by Prabowo Subianto to resolve this issue quickly, accurately, and always in favor of the people,” said Viva Yoga in a press statement.
House of Representatives (DPR RI)
The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) is the nation’s bicameral legislature and a central institution in its democratic governance. It was established following Indonesia’s independence in 1945 and has evolved from a body appointed by the president to a fully elected chamber. The DPR is responsible for creating laws, overseeing the executive branch, and approving the national budget.
National Democrat (Nasdem)
I’m sorry, but “National Democrat (Nasdem)” is not a place or cultural site; it is the name of a political party in Indonesia. Founded in 2011, the Nasdem Party is one of the major political parties in the country and currently holds seats in the national legislature.
National Mandate Party (PAN)
The National Mandate Party (PAN) is an Indonesian political party founded in 1998, following the fall of Suharto’s New Order regime. It was established by supporters of Amien Rais and is rooted in the modernist Islamic organization Muhammadiyah, promoting a platform of social justice, democracy, and religious values.
