New Delhi, May 16. In the NEET paper leak case, the CBI conducted a major operation and arrested two accused, including the mastermind.

The investigation agency presented both individuals in court on Saturday, where the court sent the mastermind and the other accused to 10 days of CBI custody. The order was issued by the court of Special CBI Judge Ajay Gupta.

According to information, chemistry teacher PV Kulkarni is considered the mastermind of the NEET paper leak scandal. The CBI arrested him and his associate Manisha Waghmare from Pune.

The investigation agency says that during questioning of the two accused, there is a possibility of revealing other people connected to the paper leak network and the entire conspiracy mechanism.

During the hearing, the CBI told the court that Manisha Waghmare, Dhananjay Lokhande, PV Kulkarni, and Manisha Mandhare were in contact with each other. All were involved in this paper leak conspiracy.

The central investigation agency requested custody of the accused, stating that the accused need to be taken to other parts of the country for investigation, hence longer custody is required.

The lawyer representing Manisha Waghmare opposed the CBI’s custody request, saying that his client was illegally detained.

He claimed that the Pune police kept Manisha in their custody for more than 24 hours, and also stated that there is no concrete evidence against Manisha and action is being taken only based on alleged disclosures.

PV Kulkarni’s lawyer also rejected the allegations, saying that even if he had prepared the question paper, he had no knowledge of whether the questions he created would be selected by the NTA.
