The program, organized by the Vietnam Circus Federation, is an annual cultural “rendezvous” during the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and the April 30 – May 1 holiday. Built around connecting the cultural identities of three regions through the language of circus and magic, the “Three-Region Circus and Magic Gala” not only brings highly entertaining performances but also contributes to honoring traditional cultural values, evoking national pride, and strengthening the bond between art and contemporary audiences.
This year’s “Three-Region Circus and Magic Gala” features artistic direction by People’s Artist Tong Toan Thang, with artists Phung Dac Nhan and Meritorious Artist Do Hung serving as program directors.
Like a symphony that is both stirring and lyrical, the program opens with the performance “Homeland of Three Regions,” then takes viewers along the length of the country, from “Returning to Quan Ho Land,” “New Day in the Central Highlands,” to “The Horse’s Song – Heading to the Southern Land,” and concludes in the joyful, uplifting atmosphere of “The Nation’s Complete Joy – As if Uncle Ho Were Here on the Great Victory Day.”
In a space of music and light, the circus artists of the Vietnam Circus Federation showcased their talent and courageous, dedicated spirit through complex, technically demanding circus acts such as: swinging on aerial hoops, dual trapeze, balancing on tight steel wires, springboard jumps, and single bar on legs… The combination of masterful technique, elaborate staging, and modern sound and lighting effects created an atmosphere both dramatic and emotionally rich.
In particular, interwoven between the circus acts is the sweet blend of magic language, bringing many delightful surprises to the audience. Alongside these are clown acts and funny animal circus performances, filling the circus theater with laughter.
Performing in this year’s “Three-Region Circus and Magic Gala” are talented circus artists, such as People’s Artist Tran Manh Cuong, Meritorious Artist Thanh Tuan, Meritorious Artist Thu Huong, and artists Thu Huong, Hong Yen, Cam Ly, Thao Van, Le Phuong, Manh Thuong, The Ninh, Tien Phuong, Thu Trang, Xuan Tung…
Also featured are famous magicians from three regions, including Hoang J (Champion of VTV3’s Super Magic), Viet Duy (National Magic Champion 2023), and Lu Phong (Runner-up of VTV3’s Super Magic).
After the performance on April 24, the “Three-Region Circus and Magic Gala” will have additional shows on April 25, 26, 29, 30, and May 1, 2, 3, 2026.
