Good news! Tangerang City’s Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs Reopens Free Nutrition Facts and Food Expiration Laboratory Testing for Small and Medium Enterprises

TANGERANG– The Tangerang City Government, through the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises (Perindagkop UKM), has reopened registration for free laboratory testing facilitation of Nutrition Facts and food expiration dates for small and medium industry players (IKM) in Tangerang City.

This program is designed to assist IKM/MSME players in Tangerang City, especially those in the food sector, in determining the nutritional content and shelf life of their products through laboratory testing that complies with applicable standards. The test results can later be used as a basis for including Nutrition Facts labels and expiration date information on product packaging.

The Head of the Industry Division of the Tangerang City Perindagkop UKM Department stated that this facilitation program is part of the Tangerang City Government’s commitment to improving the quality and competitiveness of IKM/MSME products.

“Through this facilitation, IKM/MSME players can find out the nutritional content information of their products as well as the shelf life or expiration date that is clear and scientifically tested. This information is very important to include on packaging labels to increase consumer trust,” she said.

She explained that this activity is also part of the Tangerang City Government’s efforts to encourage IKM/MSME players to meet increasingly strict product standards, especially if they want to expand their market to modern retail or broader markets.

The Head of the Industry Division also conveyed that this program has been routinely implemented every year since 2022 and has received positive responses from IKM/MSME players in Tangerang City. Each year, a number of IKM/MSME players get the opportunity to test their products for free through cooperation with competent laboratories.

“Since 2022, we have routinely implemented this program as a form of support for improving the quality of IKM/MSME products. We hope that more and more IKM/MSME players in Tangerang City can take advantage of this facility to improve their product standards,” she added.

Registration for the 2026 Tangerang City Nutrition Fact Facilitation is open for free with a limited quota, and registration will close once the quota is met. Eligible IKM/MSME players in Tangerang City can register by scanning the QR Code available on the poster or through the registration link provided by the Tangerang City Perindagkop UKM Department.

Through this program, the Tangerang City Government continues to strive to encourage IKM/MSMEs to upgrade and strengthen regional economic growth through the development of quality and competitive local products.
