Ambassador Abdulmutalib Thabet, Libya’s permanent representative to the Arab League and acting head of the Libyan embassy in the Arab Republic of Egypt, held an expanded meeting at the embassy headquarters, attended by a number of officials and specialists, as part of the regular follow-up of the diplomatic mission’s performance and enhancing administrative and financial coordination.
The meeting included Ismail Obaid, the cultural attaché; Mohamed Hamouda, the legal advisor; Fathi Jumaa, the financial controller; Ramadan Al-Barghouthi, the maritime academy affairs coordinator; and Ibrahim Al-Jarari, the head of the Libyan Student Union in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The meeting reviewed the first quarterly reports for 2026, assessing overall performance and discussing financial and administrative aspects, with a focus on the conditions of Libyan students sent to study at the Maritime Academy in Egypt, and exploring mechanisms to settle overdue financial dues to ensure their academic and living stability.
The meeting also discussed the needs of the Libyan Student Union in Egypt, ways to support its activities, and enhance its role in representing students, helping to overcome difficulties and provide a suitable educational environment.
During the meeting, the ambassador stressed the importance of accelerating the resolution of pending files and the need for continuous coordination among relevant parties to serve the interests of Libyan students and improve the efficiency of the diplomatic mission’s performance.
