After a month and a half of fighting, a ten-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon came into effect on Thursday at 21:00 GMT (midnight local time). The announcement was made by the US President, who said he wants to organize a meeting between the leaders of the two countries. For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister stated that the truce will allow peace efforts to be “pushed” forward.

The US President also expressed hope on Thursday that Hezbollah would act “well” during the ten-day ceasefire period reached between Lebanon and Israel.

Upon arriving in Las Vegas, a post was made on a social media platform, “I hope Hezbollah behaves well and properly during this important period,” adding, “It will be a great moment for them if they do. No more killing. There must finally be peace.”
