The Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education has been conducting surveys on the grading status of third-year students in public junior high schools and ninth-year students in compulsory education schools (as of December 31) since the 2002 academic year, when evaluation based on the objectives of the national curriculum was introduced. This is to ensure the objectivity and reliability of assessments aligned with the curriculum’s goals. For this year as well, a survey was conducted on the grading status of third-year students in public junior high schools and ninth-year students in compulsory education schools (as of December 31), and the results have been compiled and are reported below.

The grades used in the Tokyo Metropolitan Public High School Entrance Selection were those from this survey of third-year students in public junior high schools and ninth-year students in compulsory education schools (as of December 31).

1 Purpose

To investigate the grading status based on evaluation aligned with the national curriculum objectives for third-year students in public junior high schools and ninth-year students in compulsory education schools (as of December 31), and to utilize the findings to help ensure the objectivity and reliability of grades.

2 Survey Content

The grading status for each subject for third-year students in public junior high schools and ninth-year students in compulsory education schools (as of December 31).

3 Survey Targets

619 public junior high schools, etc. (including secondary education schools and compulsory education schools).
