On January 22, the director of the Chongqing Vocational Skills Appraisal Guidance Center (Chongqing International Skills Exchange Center) stated that during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, Chongqing will continue to deepen international skills exchange and cooperation, with plans to train and certify over 500 international skilled professionals annually.
In recent years, Chongqing has been approved to establish the “Belt and Road” International Skills Certification Center, built 4 skills training bases, officially established the “Chongqing International Skills Exchange Center,” set up 27 external skills certification service stations and 6 overseas stations for master skill studios, leveraging major platform construction to boost skills development.
Simultaneously, the city released the “Belt and Road International Skills Standards Development Regulations,” developed over 30 mutually recognized standards, established an expert database, created high-quality courses to train nearly 200 international instructors, conducted over 500 international skills certifications covering 47 countries, continuously expanding its skills “circle of friends.”
Notably, Chongqing has cumulatively established friendly skills cooperation relations with over 40 countries and regions. The “Chinese + Automotive” learning workshop has taken root in more than 30 Belt and Road partner countries. 77 Chongqing institutions have cooperated with 211 overseas entities, training over 10,000 international skilled professionals and sending more than 6,000 skilled professionals abroad.
It was stated that during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, the Chongqing human resources and social security system will work with all parties to jointly build new platforms for “integration of industry and talent,” explore new tracks in “future industries,” strengthen cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and green low-carbon technologies, jointly explore new future-oriented paths for skills development, co-establish a national new occupations observatory, release and promote over 10 new skilled occupations, specializations, and standards annually, and jointly cultivate more international and interdisciplinary skilled professionals. Furthermore, the city will organize “Belt and Road” international skills competitions and exchange activities, training and certifying over 500 international skilled professionals each year, ensuring the fruits of skills cooperation better benefit industrial development and livelihood improvement in various countries.
