Hyderabad, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President N. Ramchander Rao indicated possible manipulation in Telangana’s voter lists, stating that ahead of the upcoming municipal elections and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, conspiracies are being hatched to inflate votes of only a specific community, particularly in Hyderabad, to benefit the Majlis party with more seats, for which the BJP Legal Cell must become active.
Addressing a meeting of the BJP Legal Cell at the party headquarters, the Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Bhavan, N. Ramchander Rao called upon the Legal Cell to launch an agitation against the injustice being done to the public due to tampering in voter lists. He said the BJP legal wing has informed the High Court about public objections to the delimitation of GHMC wards, but the ruling Congress government is making these efforts in voter lists across several areas, specifically to benefit a particular group in Hyderabad.
Ramchander Rao said votes of a specific community are being increased with the intention of ensuring more seats for the Majlis party. Both the ruling Congress and the main opposition BRS parties are determined to win elections using money power, muscle power, and the politics of religion. Therefore, the BJP Legal Cell must stand firm 24 hours a day to deliver justice to the people. He termed the opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) as wrong, stating it is a process to purify the voter list by removing fake voters, deceased voters, and duplicate voter names.
Voter List Reform, Allegations on Congress, and the Glory of Somnath Temple: Rao
Ramchander Rao said the SIR is a continuous process of adding new young voters to the voter list while also removing names of infiltrators and voters from other countries. He called upon the BJP Legal Cell to continue the struggle against irregularities in the voter list and to protect citizens’ rights by fighting for justice.
Citizens have full faith in the Indian judiciary, which is why the public seeks refuge in the courts for justice. However, the Congress party is not refraining from attempts to defame constitutional independent bodies like the judiciary and the Election Commission by levelling baseless and inappropriate allegations.
Speaking about the Somnath Temple, a symbol of Sanatan Hindu faith, culture, and spirituality, BJP State President Ramchander Rao mentioned that the BJP, in collaboration with the Gujarat government, is celebrating the Somnath Swabhiman Parv-2026 with grandeur across the country. He stated that this temple was reconstructed on the inspiration of former Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by the country’s first President, Babu Rajendra Prasad, and was completed in 1951, making it available for devotees to visit.
Glory of Somnath Temple, Opposition to MGNREGA, and BJP’s Growing Victory
Ramchander Rao said that invader Mohammad Ghaznavi attacked the Somnath Temple in an attempt to destroy it, but even today, this temple stands firm as a symbol of Sanatan Hindu religion, faith, culture, and spirituality. At another event, Rao released the BJP’s New Year 2026 diary and praised BJP’s Public Relations Officer Parameshwar profusely. He said it was released especially on the occasion of Sankranti festival, coinciding with the completion of 1000 years of the Somnath Temple’s construction. It will be beneficial for every BJP leader and worker to have this diary.
Ramchander Rao said this diary provides all information related to the BJP. The Somnath Swabhiman Parv is being celebrated as a symbol of the country’s unity, protection of religion, and cultural pride. Ramchander Rao expressed displeasure over Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s strong opposition to the central government renaming the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) scheme to ‘The Developed India-Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural)’ (Developed India-G-Ramji).
Ramchander Rao said the Chief Minister, who is spreading misinformation about the scheme’s name, should know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has not cancelled the MGNREGA scheme but has modernized it, which will provide additional benefits to the rural population. He said Congress has started to fear due to the BJP’s continuous
