BEKASI – In commemoration of National Teacher’s Day, observed every November 25, PT Pertamina EP Tambun Field provided guidance for educators in sustainable environmental learning at schools.
Through the Eco-School Seminar “Program Rangkul Raga Bumi – Bank Sampah 21”, the activity held at SMP Negeri 5 Babelan, Bekasi Regency, created a collaborative atmosphere between teachers, students, and Pertamina EP Tambun Field.
The seminar, attended by teachers and 35 students from grades VII to IX, featured speakers who shared practical knowledge about waste management and the implementation of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
The speakers shared real practices regarding waste management and the application of 3R principles.
Throughout the discussion, teachers and students together explored understanding about waste concepts, types, sources, and impacts, as well as examined waste sorting and management practices that can shape clean living patterns and the importance of early responsibility roles.
The idea of establishing a school waste bank developed into a creative learning space, as well as a small economic opportunity that motivates students to carry out environmental actions consistently.
The collaboration between Pertamina EP Tambun Field and teachers provides action-based support so that environmental learning grows from small things done every day. Environmental learning will not truly grow without the presence of educators who serve as role models.
The guidance provided in this activity encourages teachers to bring environmental awareness into school routines, from waste sorting culture to student involvement in independent environmental activities.
“The best investment for environmental sustainability begins in the classroom. What teachers do today becomes an example and provides provisions for future generations who care more about the environment. We feel honored to be part of this important journey,”
“Teacher’s Day serves as a reminder that big impacts start from small changes that begin in the classroom. From a teacher who patiently teaches that the earth is our home that needs to be protected, to a group of students who understand and implement sustainable practices at home,”
Together with teachers, Pertamina EP Tambun Field believes that an environmentally conscious generation is not a distant ideal, but something being built today, step by step, with heart.
