Attracting Talent and Signing Projects: Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference Yields Fruitful Results

From the Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference results press conference on November 16, it was learned that this conference successfully attracted 3,944 outstanding master’s and doctoral graduates and facilitated the signing of 260 talent projects, injecting strong momentum into the modernization of Chongqing.

From November 15 to 16, the Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference was held locally with the theme “Gathering Talents for New Chongqing, Creating the Future Together.” As an international exchange platform integrating talent exchange, project matching, and intellectual collision, the conference achieved fruitful results in “conferences, competitions, and talent recruitment.”

The conference adhered to the concepts of “high-end, international, professional, and socialized,” leveraging multiple national strategic advantages including the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle construction. Focusing on the needs of modernizing Chongqing, it organized 12 main activities including conferences and talent recruitment, along with 22 supporting activities such as entrepreneurship competitions, accelerating the establishment of a western talent center and innovation hub, and accumulating momentum for Chongqing’s high-quality economic and social development during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period.

In terms of innovative talent gathering, the conference coordinated online and offline efforts while linking schools, enterprises, and districts for talent recruitment. It successfully held a series of special events including talent matching meetings and results exchange meetings, attracting 3,944 outstanding master’s and doctoral graduates. Among them, 71.8% were in key technological and industrial fields such as new energy vehicles, advanced materials, and life sciences, including 284 outstanding young scientific talents like doctors and postdoctoral researchers, injecting new energy into Chongqing’s modernization.

Regarding innovation projects, the conference established a dual recruitment mechanism for talent and industries, deeply coordinating with district industrial parks, open platforms, and innovation bases. It secured 260 talent project signings. Competition activities including the Global Excellent Engineer Competition and the “Xingyu Cup” International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Competition attracted 2,161 talent teams showcasing their technologies and projects, solving 273 enterprise technical challenges, and accelerating the transformation and implementation of innovative achievements such as new ultra-precision intelligent laser industrial machine technology industrialization. These projects either gather leading talents, possess core technologies, or are equipped with venture capital, all becoming development “increments” that leverage new quality productive forces.

Moving forward, Chongqing will fully promote the implementation of achievements including talent recruitment, project signings, and major platforms. It will continuously upgrade talent policies, optimize development platforms, improve innovation ecosystems, and enhance service mechanisms to attract more high-quality talents through better conditions.
