Some girls were filming themselves outside the restaurant when suddenly two youths on a scooter tried to snatch their phone. Fortunately, the girl quickly pulled her phone back, and the thieves fled empty-handed. Bengaluru Police have taken cognizance of the matter.
Attempted phone snatching
The incident occurred around 11:20 PM on Sunday outside Gufha Restaurant. Four girls, who identified themselves as content creators, were shooting a video when two boys approached them. One of the girls, identified as Ruchika, a self-proclaimed food blogger from Nagpur, stated that she regularly creates content for restaurants. She shared on social media, “While shooting, these two boys came near me and tried to snatch my phone from my hand. Luckily, I pulled it down in time, and they couldn’t take it.” The incident has raised concerns about safety in the area.
Bengaluru Police responds on Twitter
The entire incident was captured on the victim’s phone and the restaurant’s CCTV. The video was later shared on Twitter, where Bengaluru Police was tagged. The police promptly acknowledged the complaint, stating, “We have forwarded the above complaint to the concerned police officials for necessary action.”
