Violence erupts again on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, increasing tensions between the two countries.
Islamabad – The border dispute between Pakistan and Afghanistan has once again turned into violent clashes. According to latest information, exchanges of fire occurred between Pakistani security forces and Afghan Taliban in the Spin Boldak-Chaman border area. Several people from both sides were reported injured in this confrontation, while local sources have also confirmed some civilian casualties.
Clashes occurred again between Pakistani security forces and Afghan Taliban on Tuesday night. According to reports, tensions have escalated between both parties at the border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district.
An Afghan Taliban spokesperson stated that Pakistani forces attacked the Spin Boldak area of Kandhar this morning. In this attack, 12 civilians were killed and more than 100 were injured.
Both sides have claimed to have captured each other’s posts during this fighting. There are also reports of tank losses. Pakistani state media accused the Taliban of firing the first shot without provocation.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan-affiliated social media handles claimed that Afghan security forces targeted locations in Pakistan that pose threats to Afghanistan. They also stated that 7 Pakistani soldiers were killed.
Pakistan’s Claim – Taliban Posts Suffer Heavy Damage
Sources from Pakistan claimed that several Taliban posts suffered heavy damage in Pakistan’s attack, with flames seen rising from their positions.
Pakistani news reported, ‘Afghan Taliban and militant groups initiated unprovoked firing in Kurram. Pakistani forces responded with full force.’
It was claimed that a Taliban tank was destroyed in Pakistan’s retaliatory firing, forcing the attackers to abandon their posts and flee the area. Meanwhile, Kabul claims it is responding to violations of its airspace and sovereignty.
Pakistani Forces on High Alert
According to sources, Pakistani forces are on high alert and fully prepared to respond to any attack.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan-affiliated news released a video claiming that a Taliban drone dropped explosives on a Pakistani military base in the border areas of Pakhtunkhwa.
