Assam, The political and social debate has intensified regarding the eviction campaign ongoing in several parts of the country. The president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind described this campaign as “unfortunate and inhumane.” He stated that this step is increasing discontent in society and creating a serious crisis for the poorer sections.
He said: The Assam government should work within the system for evictions, not carry it out in a hateful manner. However, the Assam Chief Minister refuted these comments and warned of legal action if necessary.
The Chief Minister said: Who is he, what is he? It is only because of the Congress that he shows such courage. There is no evidence of his bravery during the BJP’s time. If he does more, I will send him to jail. I am the Chief Minister, not him.
Violation of the system is happening, it is condemnable
He told the media, “An eviction campaign is being run in the state. I visited several areas yesterday. It is saddening to see what is being done here. I was very sad, especially because communities and countries are built under a system. If anything is done by violating the system, if it is ignored and crushed, then it becomes unfortunate and painful. It cannot be condemned enough.”
Every Muslim should go to Bangladesh
Earlier, the Chief Minister had said that if Jamiat leaders come to the state and do anything, they will be arrested and sent to Bangladesh. On this, he said, “I have been in their state since yesterday. They are saying that every Muslim should be sent to Bangladesh. Therefore, those who are spreading hatred in this country should go to Pakistan.”
Without naming anyone, he said: “Hateful bigots should go to Pakistan. Why should they live in this beautiful country, which has harmony and an ancient civilization? We did not become the oldest and greatest civilization by using such words.”
See the fate of those who occupy land
The Chief Minister, regarding the visit following the eviction campaign, said that we have given him permission to go so that he can see what happens if someone encroaches on land.
The Chief Minister alleged that outsiders are misleading villagers on land issues. They do not even inform before coming and later blame the BJP, but the BJP is not afraid of anyone.
Meanwhile, in response to the Chief Minister’s remarks, he had said that Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind does not oppose the removal of encroachment, but it is against injustice and cruelty.
The government needs land for works like road widening, but all evictions should be carried out as per the directives of the Supreme Court.
